First Day En Pointe

Cassidy has been waiting for this day for a long time...her first day in Pointe class in Pointe shoes! "Even though it hurts like crazy it's one of the best things that has happened to me!!!"

Happy Valentine's to Us

For Valentine's Scott and I set ourselves up with cross-country ski equipment. We finally got to use it on Saturday. We drove up to the Grand Mesa and went to the groomed trails at Skyway. It was a "Bluebird" day--the sun was shining and it was SO nice. We had a great time and learned a lot. We took a shorter trail, only 3 miles or so, but that was enough for the first time. We have plans to go once a week for the rest of the season. What a great way for us to get exercise--it is so peaceful skiing on the trail through the trees!

Show N Tell

Sibany's best friend is Kasey, Grandma and Grandpa Brown's two year-old Yorkie. For the last two years, they have been growing up together. In her kindergarten class, the kids are assigned a letter each week for show n tell. Since the beginning of the school-year, Sibany has been waiting for the letter d (dog) or K (Kasey). Well last week, she finally got the letter d and was able to bring Kasey. She was so proud and happy to have Kasey there.

Just had to share this "sign" posted on Sibany's door! She was feeling neglected by her family and decided to post the sign and take a nap!

Ice Skating

Last week, we went on a second field trip to Glacier Ice Arena with Cassidy's homeschool group. This time we felt a little more confident stepping on the ice and we had a great time! After the first 10 minutes, Sibany let go of the wall and cones and skated around all by herself. Cassidy did more work on her spins and tricks. Mom tried to keep track of the girls and have some fun herself! Of course we had to stop half-way through and get the usual nachos and hot chocolate. The girls can't wait until next month's field trip!

Best Friends

Sibany and Benji are best friends! Sibany thinks cousin Benji is a lot of fun to play with. She is so glad he came to visit!

Thanks Grandpa Brown

Sibany LOVES the new truck grandpa gave her for Christmas (she calls the truck "BOB", both in honor of Grandpa and Bob the Builder). The truck tires, loader, mixer, etc. can all be removed and replaced using a "real" working screwdriver. This may seem an odd gift for a girl, but after Sibany drove her dad crazy this fall asking to use his drill, mom asked grandpa to find something that would be hers alone. So... thanks grandpa---dad has his drill back and Sibany is busy with hers!
